In the early 1990s, A dark cloud loomed
over the city of Phoenix, Arizona

It took me only about 5 minutes to sketch a fake police composite of my friend Bryan and post it online as a joke.

Never could I have imagined that the face I was sketching was the face Phoenix cold case detectives had been trying to sketch for over 20 long years.
The face of the most elusive serial killer the city's ever known.

The face of the
Arizona Zombie Hunter

From jail, Bryan kept constant correspondence with me as I began digging into the decades old case. Every hour of research was spent hoping that I might find something that could help exonerate him - while deep down, always fearing I might find something that could help condemn him.

Now, with the names of more and more possible victims piling up, my
friend's potential execution on the horizon, and my imagination having exhausted every hypotheses--from the somewhat plausible to the totally bizarre - I'm forced to face the harsh possibility that our bond of friendship has evolved into nothing more than a hopeless bond of symbiotic denial.
